SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR HOMESICK
Submissions are currently closed. The themes for upcoming issues are always announced via our Instagram page. You can use these themes as a prompt, or incorporate them in your work as you see fit. You can use the submission form on our website to submit your work when submissions are open. You may submit to multiple categories, but please submit only ONE submission form per category, following the submissions guidelines for that category. If your work is selected, you will be contacted through email. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at contact@homesickzine.com.
*Please note that priority will be given to those with no prior publications. PLEASE MENTION IF YOU HAVE OR HAVE NOT BEEN PUBLISHED IN YOUR BIO.
SHORT STORIES
Please submit ONE piece relevant to the theme. Piece should be no more than 2,000 words.
POETRY
You may submit 2-4 pieces as long as the total word count of all pieces is no more than 2,000 words. Your pieces must be relevant to the theme. Please note that there is a possibility that not all of your pieces will be selected.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Please submit no more than four photographs, relevant to the theme. You may include a few sentences about the photographs and how they relate to the theme in your bio or as a separate PDF attachment. Please note that there is a possibility that not all of your photographs will be selected.
ART
Please submit no more than four pieces of art, relevant to the theme. You may include a few sentences about your art and how it relates to the theme in your bio or as a separate PDF attachment. Please note that there is a possibility that not all of your pieces will be selected.
MIXED MEDIA
If you wish to submit art or photography AND writing that goes along with it (prose, flash fiction, poetry, a short story) please submit only ONE image (either art or a photograph) and ONE piece of writing no longer than 2,000 words.
All selected contributors will be given an honorarium in the form of an e-zine or monetary compensation for their selected work(s), per contributor (NOT per piece). The honorarium is subject to change, depending on funding.
